It wasn’t until recently that I decided to get online pet supplies for my 3-year old golden retriever, Bruno. I would frequent the local pet store and get whatever I needed from there. It was pretty annoying though. Half the time they were out of stock and I had to wait until fresh supplies arrived. It could be a week or more before I could finally get what I needed!

In fact, it came to a point where I would have to estimate when my supplies would get exhausted and after much calculation, I would have to visit the shop a month before D-day and finally, if I was lucky, I’d get everything in time! Moreover, my son, who I used to trouble by making him go and see if the supplies had arrived or not would get pretty irritated with me! So I had to provide him with incentives to keep doing as he was told! Not very pleasant, let me tell you!

So when my sister, Cathy, suggested I look for my pet supplies in the virtual world, I decided to give it a shot, and Cathy, bless her, gave me the best suggestion ever! I always get my supplies on time, I get products which weren’t available at my store and most importantly, Bruno, is smiling his adorable doggy smile all the time!

Why Online?

So why buy online? Well, firstly, if you’re hard-pressed for time (who isn’t?), then it is really convenient if you can do all your shopping online by browsing pictures. Also, you get a wide range of products to choose from, all in one place. You don’t even have to leave home to do this!

Also, if you’re looking to save money, then let me tell you, the internet is undoubtedly the place where you will get the best deals and find cheap pet supplies! With all the discount coupons and offer coupons online, you could end up saving a bunch of money and still buy all your pet’s (in my case, dog’s) favorite supplies! Even if you have a discount pet supply store in your area, you’ll still save money ordering online.

Add to this the price of gasoline which you’re saving! That’s a lot of money, because, as we all know, gasoline does not come cheap! Yes, you need to pay the shipping costs, but most times, this is lower than the gasoline you’ll spend making your trip to your local pet store! And if you have taxes, that’s additional savings in many cases.

For me, the money I pay in shipping is almost always less than the money I would spend on gas and taxes. And the time savings should count for something as well.

The biggest advantage of shopping online is the large selection of products. If you go to the neighborhood store, or even a retail outlet, you’re not going to get this huge array to choose from, simply because of space constraints in the shop!

No such problem is encountered by online “shopkeepers”. This is a big boon if you are looking for products which are generally hard to find. So give online pet supplies a chance, they might just end up being a winner with your pet!

And if you don’t mind ordering in bulk, you can always find wholesale dog products. Just make sure you have the space necessary to store everything until it is needed.
